Best pizza in town - with that wood-fired oven one cannot go wrong. Love the steak sandwich. . . Chef sneaks in the veggies in every meal. . .you gotta love it! The fieldgood potatoes are better than most fries. The creme brulee and bread pudding are off. the. chain. . . . go in just for them and a coffee or some such, because they're huge! Deep dish enchiladas are a lively specialty and seasoned just right. I disliked the charred caesar salad - just save your money on that one. Their duck confit dish was the most amazing, but perhaps they didn't have much of a call for it - it was taken off the menu. Fish and chips are interesting and yummy. Bread is homemade. Chef is the King at daily specials, always something interesting. His new pesto is delish! YUM

Friendly service, great food. Had the Pizza de Gallo and Green Chile Vegetarian Enchiladas. It states clearly that the enchiladas take 20 minutes. Had no problem waiting with a glass of wine and an unprecedented Fresh Ginger Ale. I will return again to try other entrees and freshly made drinks. Also interested in trying the Bread Pudding but this evening, we were plenty full. In reading the very few negative comments here, I have to believe that it was the customer who was the problem, not the restaurant. Bravo, Dr. Field Goods, keep up the good work!

I really wanted to love this place. Everyone was extremely friendly when we walked in, tired and hungry after a long drive from Colorado. We ordered an appetizer and I asked the waiter if it was spicy as I can't eat spicy food. Then I asked him to recommend something on the menu. He recommended enchiladas. Great. The arrive and looked delicious but were EXTREMELY spicy. I had to send them back. When the bill came, I was aw I'd been charged for them. I asked if they could take off the bill. They could only take half off. I couldn't believe it! Apparently there's a something about that somewhere on the menu. I've NEVER had a restaurant do that! I'm stunned! Especially since I had told the waiter I couldn't eat spicy food. Bad form folks. Sorry.

Great food! Had the fire roasted pizza with house made smoked goat sausage. Sounds like it would be gamy, but not at all. It Was Delicious!! My girlfriend had a beef torta that was also very tasty! The had a nice selection of micro brews. This place is what Santa Fe really needed. We will be back!!

LOVED the curry mussels! Really enjoyed the buffalo burger and the pizza as well. The onion rings were also very good. It was like eating a hushpuppie crossed with an onion ring. We sat at the bar and were entertained by our server as well. Really good food In a fun environment with lots of good microbrews available as well as a small, but interesting wine list. We will definitely come again!

Can't believe this was my first time here. What a great, happy, good-food/great beer place! I had the day's special, which was a yummy Andouille and Mussels in sauce event. Excellent. I'll be back...

One of the best burgers in town! And onion rings are to die for! If you haven't been here, it is worth the visit. It'll be an instant fav!

Delicious food. Excellent minestrone for lunch served with freshly baked slice of bread. I've had the burger made of bacon too--unique dish and served as a very large portion, but well worth trying. Service also excellent. Given its corner spot in a strip mall it doesn't have the best atmosphere, but it still is an very good place to spend your restaurant dollar.

This is one of the my favorite restaurants In New Mexico. Amazing hand crafted recepies, all local, farm to table ingredients. I have never ordered a meal I haven't loved. The dishes are fairly heavy, so go with an appetite. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because of the pushy waitress my party had who wouldn't let us order the way we wanted to. And while she was knowledgable and, frankly, fairly "on the money" about what our choices should or shouldn't be, it felt a bit frustrating to be told "no" or "you should do it a different way". Still, I will go back and take my friends.

This is me and my husbands favorite restaurant in town. It's not touristy, and it's delicious food. All local and reasonably priced. Definitely one of the only good things about Santa Fe!!

I read the reviews before I headed in myself. Talk around town is mostly positive, and some of the guys in the kitchen really liked what they got, so I decided to check it out myself. I got a take out Cubano (Everyone I've talked to says that one is money.) I was not disappointed. I can easily see this becoming a favorite restaurant for me and my friends. The fresh oregano in the cabbage slaw really set this sandwich apart from similar sandwiches I've had. After browsing their menu I'm already planning my next trip. Sandwich was eaten not 10 minutes ago, and I want to taste more. The restaurant space is very small but I found it more intimate than crowded. If you're planning for something more than casual I might call ahead to find out about seats. I was tempted to write a scathing review because I was put on hold for 17 minutes and ended up calling back to get through, but when I went in, I saw a lot of ernest, tired faces and I know that look. Yes there will be some slight issues with service, yes they will make mistakes. They're new. If we give them time to iron out the wrinkles I have no doubt they're going to exceed all of our expectations. Rather than stay angry I became excited to see where these guys go. The culinary talent is there, the toys are awesome (wood fired pizza oven in the bar area? Hell yes.) And the people look like they're dedicated. Give them a chance Santa Fe. The food is so worth it.

Love this place. Sit at the bar where the service is always attentive, the conversation good, and the games are easy to watch. Love the fish tostada and the sake mojitos. Charred Caesar salad is always a great starter. The bread pudding dessert is a win in my book. This place has some of the best service in town. The younger waitstaff is not quite as good as some of the folks with more experience, but they are always pleasant and always seem to be working hard for you.

Food is great. Location is SMALL - very small. Not a great choice for a family, especially if there are small children (ie. carseats/strollers/bags/etc). Great food - just get a babysitter for the kids.

This is my new favorite place. Innovative dishes, always good. They are even inventive with water and citrus drinks. Great wait staff. Fish tacos, fish & chips, burgers, pizza, enchiladas all done equally well.

Tried the Pizza de Gallo yesterday, added the carne adovada. This might just be the best pizza on planet earth! Place was packed, but the service was still prompt and cordial. Have also had the chicken and the buffalo enchiladas in the past, both were excellent. Great selection of beer, good selection of wine.

  • Amanda G.

I love the torta Cubana. It is wonderful, the potatoes are yummy BUT the onion rings are excellent. Food is great at this place but I have struggled with the waitstaff. Some are cocky and full of themselves. I once complimented a server on how great my food was and his response was hard to stomach. He was so full of himself and didn't accept the compliment, he just went on and on and was complimenting himself and the business. Music is hit or miss also - awful stuff sometimes.

Today, my coworkers and I came out for lunch. So, it was great that the 5 of us all got something different. I got the Buffalo burger with green chile (really good), with a small side of onion rings. One coworker got the New Mexican - pulled pork with apple and jicama slaw with potatoes; sloppy goodness that he gobbled up. Another coworker got the Cubano, she was very quiet as she was enjoying her meal as well. An other coworker got the bad ass BLT with a fried egg. This has a 9 oz. bacon patty and hard to get your mouth round the whole sandwich. She liked the flavor but perhaps not such a thick patty. The last coworker got the skinny burger and she loved it. She usually only eats half of what she orders but she eat 3/4 because it was so good. They have great rocking tunes, excellent service (Chef Josh even helped the waitress bring over our food, so that we were all served at one time -- nice!), comfortable and casual setting. I found the fresh drinks fun. I had the ginger ale - very good. There are other tasty beverages. I like too that they have french press coffee. Also, they have a few table outside; not sure how bothersome or not, the Cerrillos traffic noise would be.

Seriously??!! I have lived in Santa Fe all my life and no way this restaurant is even in the top 20 much less #2. I do not know who is writing these reviews I have eaten here twice once I went on my own because it was new the second time was a lunch brought into my office by a rep both times it was terrible.

Another gluten free disappointment. If it sounds good forget about it. Not very gluten free accommodating. Small place. Food seems prepared properly, not great.

I came in a little skeptical, the mood I was in was a little frantic and the atmosphere at first wasn't appealing. (Keep in mind I'm pregnant as I write this) We sat down and waited for our other couple to arrive, the music was blaring, the fan above was so strong it made my eyes burn, and the parties surrounding us were just unpleasant. I overheard the bartender let the table next to us know that a party of eight was coming in and they had reserved that table before the couple sat down...first thought in my head, "Oh, hell no! I'm not sitting next to a rowdy group of eight!" We decided to move to the bar, which was waaaaay better! No fan in my face, immediate service from the bartender, and no super rowdy party of eight (which actually turned out to be 12, jerks!) all up in my business. The only only difficult thing being pregnant, is choosing from the menu. I'm a cheese lover, (even more because I'm a hungry fat pregnant lady!) yet the choices of pasteurized cheesy goodness are limited to only American cheese. There were a lot of menu items that I couldn't enjoy, but will immediately after this little girl pops out! So, my cravings for pizza and tomatoes led me to the Margherita Pizza with American instead of Mozzarella. It was amazing, and my baby and I were very satisfied...even without the delicious looking Chile Cheese Fries. Tim, our bartender, was also delightful with a kick of wit and some laughs for all of us to enjoy. I will be back...in four months! :)

I was a huge fan of Chef Josh when he ran Casa Vieja in Corrales and made a special trip up to Santa Fe when I heard he opened a new place. I'd like to give the place a higher rating because the food was wonderful and fresh. We had the special cod tacos, delicious! And the Buffalo Red Chile Enchiladas, an old favorite that never disappoints. Sadly, the service kind of sucked. The place was sort of busy and there weren't any four tops open, so we had to sit at the bar. We sat for a good long while before the server took our drink order and a good long while before our food came out. We had to ask for refills as none were offered, and then my $3 cucumber mint water was refilled with just plain old tap water, even though the menu says free refills on the special stuff. We'll be back, but I really that the level of service will match the quality of the food next time.

Santa fe is lacking in food stuffs of lore and wonder.... this place is ambient in a non-"southwester" way.. ie: non tourist, non-pretense.. Got a handmade ginger ale and a Cubano sandwich.. Wasn't sure if I was going to have a heart attack or an orgasm.. .. . needless it to say it's worth the visit.. They have good taste in beer too. Nice Tap selection. They also make their own bread.. seriously who does that? I love the attention to detail that they give their food!

Our party tried the onion rings - likely the best I have ever had, the cheese pizza with onions - yum , the green chili stew- again likely the best in town - and the New Mexican pulled pork sandwich ---- 5 stars ---- can't say anything bad , everyone friendly , great food , great beer and wine --- we will be back OFTEN !

Caveat: it's a bar/ restaurant with emphasis on the "bar". Visited Santa Fe over Labor Day and it was a zoo. After not having great experiences in old town, we asked some locals for guidance and they suggested this place. What a find. In a small strip style mall (the Big 5 mall) next to Jackalope. It's all about the food. Wood fired pizza oven. Fresh individually prepared farm to table food. We ordered take out there which meant we were there long enough to enjoy the hip/trendy vibe. I got the most tender mussels I have ever had (and I'm from the East Coast) bathed in a tasty light curry sauce for an appetizer. I followed that with the 'New Mexican' a pulled pork sandwich on a kaiser roll with green chile, cheddar and apple jicama slaw. It size was matched only by it's incredible flavor. I ate the whole thing. Girlfriend had the pizza Margarita and it was spot on - thin crisp crust and all. Great dining experience in an unexpected locale.

I have heard great things about this little local place and today i was able to make it. I walked in and it was busy even after the lunch hour, (good sign) i saw several seats open at the bar, I am not a bar eater for the most part although this place seemed to have that "come sit here and eat" feeling to it. I was greeted by a very nice person who welcomed me and asked right away what i was drinking. My usual please ( had never been there but thought it was funny to me) a diet drink as always FYI, please get diet coke LOL... i was told the specials and left to chose from the menu. This menu is simple and very easy to pick out what one would like. I was told the pulled pork sandwich was very good so thats what i was ordering today. A few short minutes of looking over this nice place, which is loud but thats ok it goes with the flavor of the spot. I was served by the chef, and greeted and told to enjoy it. I shall i told him in with a big smile as i looked over the presentation which looked divine. I took one bite and was filled with flavor and joy, a very fine mixture they have combined into this plate, along with three onion rings. I did not leave a crumb anywhere on the plate. I finished and was full as it was just the right amount to be served, and was checked on twice by the staff. Over all a very nice lunch, a very fair price, and a great afternoon first time at this new Joint, i will be back thank you.

We were excited to go check it out but we were sadly disappointed. We love to sit at the bar, so it was no problem that its a small space with not a lot of seating. We ordered the mushroom soup (just was bland broth) fish and chips (small pieces on top of potato wedges stuffed with coleslaw) and the vegetarian steak sandwich (one of the only veg dishes; not that great) We had a couple of beers each ($6-$8 range) and our bill racked up pretty high quickly. We might go back and give it another try, but I am giving it two stars for now. There are so many places to get delicious fish and chips, the same beer, and more vegetarian options for half the price in Santa Fe so we are going to stick to those places. Good luck Dr. Field Good, maybe next time the chef can be back there making the food better instead of standing in the middle of the restaurant staring at everybody.

I had the pleasure to dine here today. This was one if the better buffalo burgers I've had. It was cooked perfectly and the ciabatta roll was soft and went great with the burger. I added green chilies and upgraded to a side salad. I was behaving today because they have a very delicious looking menu.

Insanely delish... Great diversified menu... Cool crowd and great servers and cooks...you have to be ready for a bit if a rock & roll vibe but the food rocks.

Went here for dinner one night while staying in Santa Fe. The food is out-of-this-world delicious! We tried the Maragarita pizza and the New Mexican sandwich (pulled pork, cheese, chiles, apple jicama slaw). They were so tasty! We had never tasted tomatoes (on the pizza) like that ever in our lives. Amazing! Very casual setting. The staff was super friendly. If they were to branch out to the Phoenix area we would eat there weekly.

We met Chef Josh buying his fresh veggies for the restaurant at the Santa Fe Farmers Market. Once he told us about his place, we wanted to visit. Tucked into the corner of a strip mall on Cerillos Road, the small restaurant is easy to overlook, but not the food. Wow- the wood smoked pizza was to die for, and the best pizza we ever had! The Goat Torta and the selection of craft beers were wonderful as well. Wished we could enjoy it more often, and we will be back!

Green chili chicken enchiladas are fan-freakin-tastic! Margherita pizza is well executed. Even the fresh press coffee my college kid ordered with the side of simple syrup and fresh cream was great, I likened it to a milder form of Vietnamese coffee when it was all blended together and I fought my son for every other sip. I found service to be very prompt, friendly and accommodating too. I can see why this is my sons go to spot.

I've had dinner here enough now to know it's a rock solid spot. They really do a fantastic job here. The food is great, and the beer selection is pretty solid too. Avoid the Duel beers until they figure out their issues (which they are addressing I'm told so don't write them off just yet). The location is a bit small but they seem to be making that work fine for them. Excellent place. Come here and enjoy some good food.

I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars on this place. I may change my mind when I'm done writing my review though.....Definitely staying two stars. I wanted to like this place. Someone recommended it to me, it was easy for me to get to, and prided themselves on being very "local." Cool beans. The atmosphere was relaxed and there was a good crowd but still some seats so there was no wait. The service was awful. At least they were friendly and nice but geez, there's only so many ways you can screw up the orders and only so many times I should have to ask for water, ketchup, or whatever. I ordered the buffalo burger. I was eagerly awaiting the rich, meaty deliciousness topped with green chili. Then probably 45 minutes passed. I finished my strawberry beer and was never asked if I wanted another (by the way, the Straw Gator was really good for a fruity beer). So we continued to wait, and wait, and wait. Until finally our waitress remembered our existence and said she'd check on our food. About 5 minutes later, one of the cooks comes out with a Cubano. Yeah, not really sure what happened there but by the look on the cook's face, it seemed they were getting a bit frustrated at something with the orders. She says they can have the correct order out in 10 minutes (THEN WHY THE HELL WASN'T IT OUT THAT FAST TO BEGIN WITH?!) but rather than chance it, I stick with the Cubano. I really wanted a buffalo burger but if an order is going to get messed up, at least it wasn't something totally weird. I could live with a Cubano It was good but not the best I've had. Too much mayo something or other on it but still decent. No mustard that I could detect. Which reminds that I never got the mustard i asked for...twice. The onion rings were good- nice and crispy. The potatoes that come standard with almost everything my fellow dining adventurer had were nothing to write home about. He had the New Mexican and said it was underwhelming. The waitress felt bad and gave us dessert for the wait and the order screw up. We got a chili chocolate/fudge sampling. One had a caramely awesomeness with pinion nuts and a bit of a bite and the other was basically fudge with a chili kick dusted in cocoa powder. Pretty good. Probably better than the meal itself, actually. The check came and, like our order, was completely screwed up. I was charged for the Cubano as well as the Buffalo burger that never made an appearance. I guess the buffaloes escaped out back? Fortunately the service wasn't unpleasant it was just so....darn...slow. It took almost 2 hours to get out of there for absolutely no reason. I understand having an off-night (what she admitted to having) but this just flat out didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. I'm willing to give it one more go but my dining partner is not. Overall rating: meh. Update: Scratch that, I am not willing to give it one more go. See below. Ok, my verdict will remain a solid two stars. Why? So the leftovers were like mayo with a side of sandwich all on one side. I literally could taste NOTHING but mayo. I tried my dining partner's leftovers- same deal. Who the hell puts a metric sh*t ton of mayo on a BBQ sandwich? People who have no idea what they're doing, that's what. Contrary to what some people may think, mayo should not be dish unto itself.

Really liked the green chili chicken enchiladas...even more than the red chili buffalo. Homemade finger ale is also a must try. Service could have been better. Server seemed like she was just learning, but sitting at the bar it wasn't a huge deal.

This was our third visit to this restaurant and each time has been enjoyable. This time my wife and I shared the signature pulled pork sandwich with jicama slaw on a fresh ciabata bun and the fried vegetable risoto balls with marinara and mozarella cheese. Both items were flavorful and made with fresh ingredients, but the risoto balls are definitely worth coming back for. We also had onion rings as our side with the sandwich. These were excellent, but over cooked a bit. It was a warm day and my only complaint is that the restaurant was a little stuffy and warm, but it is summer, so not a big deal.

Had the Carne Adovada egg roll which was very tasty. Ordered the Cubano sandwich for dinner, and was not impressed. The pizzas look good, so next time I will try one. The atmosphere is laid back. Service fairly good, however, one waitress seemed to have a problem with customers texting on their cell phones, and was voicing it openly. Good place to go for anyone looking for something on the Southside, or hungry after perusing the wares over at Jackalope, which is across the street.

I was really looking forward to dining here after reading the great review in the New Mexican Pasatiempo Magazine. Service was great, food was just mediocre. It's refreshing to finally have more non-New Mexican offerings...but the prices are equivalent to dining on the Plaza. $15.00 for a skirt steak sandwich with 3 little slices of beef plus an upgrade of $1.50 to replace potatoes for onion rings. 3 little onion rings and a sandwich for $16.50. This is not a fancy place. Cute, but not fancy. The homemade ginger ale and mint cucumber infused water were great.

After getting a recommendation from a client about the BLT, my husband and I were dying to try it! We met for lunch on a Friday, the place packed. :) We were disappointed by the lack of regular(non-flavored)ice tea, sodas etc. Ordered a fresh ginger ale:( Ordered a fresh lemonade and water:))) The BLT's are AWESOME!!! I believe it shaves off one year if life after eating! The owner Josh on the other hand was not! :( We watched as his house was packed and he cooked in front of us. While checking his P.O.S. IPad menu constantly, he got more and more pissed off at his back sous chefs. Consistently pacing back to their working corders to yell and coming back to his station mouthing F****! :((((( Disappointing to see a great opportunity set up for failure because the owner doesn't have better control and direction for his Goldmine.

This was one of our favorite places. That is, until we ordered chicken wings, which were served WITH FEATHERS! The server attempted to explain that these were the feathers of very well-raised organic chicken. That was mildly comforting, but come on: you can choke, it's not obviously sanitary, and they should at least alert you to the fact that wings come with feathers included. We did not pay for the chicken. I expected them to offer us something as previously loyal customers. Atrocious. We will not be going back.

Stopped by here on the way home from farmer's market with my husband and two small children. At first, it did not appear they were too busy, great. However, the empty tables promptly filled up. Service was thus a little bit slow, but was good. We received everything we asked for and it was done correctly. I ordered the veggie burrito, which was tasty and stuffed with pickeled veggies and quinoa, kind of strange but healthy. My husband had the goat bratwurst special. The meat was phenomenal. However, someone slathered a more than normal dose of whole grain mustard, which kind overwhelmed the lovely meat. Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of mustard, but this must have been about $2.00 worth of expensive mustard alone on this brat. The potato bun which is made in house was tasty but the whole thing was a bit unwieldy. My 5 year old ordered fish and chips (yes, we both raised eyebrows). However he did eat every bit of the fried fish, and my husband and I both ate the potato skin type "chips" filled with cabbage, it was all really quite good. Kids shared a lemonade, and my husband had a Belgian draft beer. Overall, a bit pricey, but a lot of food is local. I think it's a great place to grab a bite, and the atmosphere is really relaxed, although seating is limited for big parties. One suggestion I would make to the restaurant--as there were about 10 diners under the age of 10 while we were there, could they come up with a great mac and cheese or some other easy kid food options? I know they are not aiming to be a kids restaurant, but it seems people with kids are stopping by...

Food was phenomenal! I had the skinny burger with onion rings. Easily the best burger I ever had. Every part awesome from the bun to the meat. Onion rings unreal also. Thick, crispy and hardy! (3 was plenty!) kid you not. I will back. Worth every penny. Staff also very attentive and engaging.

Oh man, the patatas braves are the stuff dreams are made of. Crunchy and cheesy with just the right amount of green chile. I also enjoyed my fish and chips, though I will probably go for one of the tasty looking sandwiches next time. My boyfriend thought his burger, which had some kind of flavorful sauce, was excellent. We will be back, though I might suggest they get some sun shades for the windows facing Cerillos, the sun was brutal for a little bit!

After having a long discussion with friends about this restaurant, my husband and I decided to give it a try on our last date night. We arrived a little after 7 on a Thursday, and just beat the dinner rush, grabbing the last indoor table. There was only one waitress, but she was holding her own quite well. Had the rush been any rushier, she would have been swamped, but the chef came out from behind the bar to help out when needed. My husband, a person who tries very hard to be vegetarian and stick with a low-saturated fat diet, found the menu very limiting, but I was pretty pleased with the omnivore options. I had the buffalo cheese burger with green chile, he had the vegetable "steak" served as a sandwich (with green chile on the side), with home fries. The veggie steak is basically a bean loaf sliced and grilled, and he was not impressed. Yes, it's better than a frozen boca burger, but only because they aren't pulling something out of the freezer and then marking it up 400%. The veggie steak itself was, as he put it, not worth writing home about. The home fries were all ends and were dried and sad, another strike. My buffalo burger came with a mountain of cheese and some pretty amazing green chile, but nothing else. No lettuce, no tomato, no onion. I guess I should have asked for those extra. Who knew? I had the onion rings, which were fantastic. The bun was great. But I have to say, I missed my lettuce and tomato. We had to ask for lots of extra ketchup, which came doled out in little cups with about 2 tablespoons of ketchup each. I have to agree that the prices are high, but I will point out that the ingredients are very high quality, and I'm willing to pay for quality. But I also wouldn't mind getting a little warning if I'm not going to get a vegetable with my meal- the other burger comes with lettuce and tomato, not sure what the deal is with this one. My rating is because I enjoyed my burger and the onion rings were awesome. I bet my husband would give them two stars, because really- there needs to be more on the menu for vegetarians. And we need good restaurants on this side of town. Warning- don't bring a large group here- the seating is really best for small parties of fewer than 6, unless you make prior arrangements.

I had many friends tell me I had to try this restaurant. Was apprehensive as some of them I never agree with. Waited months before trying. Had dinner there tonight. Service was great. Server was well informed about menu, the five of us asked many questions, as we are all in the biz. Server was non-plussed and at ease with the menu and other questions, a great sign. She made great recommendations, well versed on the beer options, food preps, ingredients, etc. We shared everything at the table, the pulled pork sandwich was clear winner, but really nothing was a loser. The Steak Frites were really great, cooked perfectly. The pizza's were crisp and no doughy center as in many places featuring this crust. The BLT sand was simply heart stopping(pure bacon), a special soup of the day (hot and sour mushroom) was tasty. The finish to all of this was one bread pudding shared amongst us. I have to say, after eating in SF for almost 20 years, this was the best bread pudding I have ever had. Great experience for a overly jaded, sometimes, SF diner.

Dr. Field Goods has easily some of the best food in Santa Fe. The way everything tastes, you'd think you were at a fancier place, but Chef Josh is a food wizard. It's not every day that you get to walk into a small--not uncomfortable, just cozy--joint with Rage Against the Machines or Bob Marley playing and watch your 9 oz. Bad Ass BLT cook in the huge oven right in front of you (provided you sit at the bar). All of the food is expertly prepared and in a timely manner. Some other reviewers have complained about the speed. This is not f---ing Wendy's. If you want your speedy food go somewhere else, but shame on you for not having the patience to wait for the flavor explosion that awaits your mouth at Field Goods. There is quite literally not a bad item on the menu, but my personal favorites are the Cubano, Bad Ass BLT (get it with a fried egg on top), the Skinny Burger, the Carne Adovada Eggrolls (yes that is an actual thing and yes you want it in your mouth), and while I HIGHLY doubt you'll have room for desert, go back on a lazy Saturday morning and get the heavenly bread pudding for breakfast. Side options are a handful of flavorful potato chunks or 3 massive onion rings. All of the non-alcoholic drinks are hand made and well worth the extra dollars. As far as alcohol goes, I believe they have one or two varieties of sake, several kinds of red and white wine, and 14 beers on tap. As far as service goes, they are all friendly but they're even happier to see repeat customers. So. For all the people who were disappointed with service, I strongly encourage you to go give it another shot. For those that were disappointed with the taste/quality of the food.......something is wrong with you and it's no little thing. Bonus round: their loyalty points program is not too shabby, either. *Side note: if you're a fan of Trailer Park Boys, you've got friends at Dr. Field Goods.

Stopped for a late dinner and were seating immediately by a friendly waiter. Started the meal with fabulous onion rings - encrusted with potato flakes with a side of a spicy homemade sauce. To die for. I had the pulled pork sandwich topped with an apple & jicama slaw on a ciabotta bun with southwest potatoes on the side. The pork was tender and flavorful with a delicious spicy crust. My wife had the best Cubano sandwich of her life. The smoked ham was flavorful and had that same smoky crust on a healthy slab of delicious grilled bread. The sandwiches were large, so both of us took half home for the next day. The hand-muddled ginger ale was totally refreshing after a long day of touring Santa Fe. The place is not huge, so I hear it can get crowded. The decor is somewhat funky and definitely not fancy. The location is in a strip mall on the Cerillos Rd strip, so if you are tired of over-crowded long-waits of the restaurants on the Santa Fe plaza take a short drive out to Dr. Field Goods. I'll be back next time I'm in Santa Fe.

Meh. Food was decent, but just another over priced and sub standard plate of Santa Fe fare. If the place was downtown, it would justify the pricing of the menu. However, it's in a strip mall and the room is stuffy and uncomfortable. But the spectacular drama of the owner loudly and obviously half tanked yelling at his staff is worth coming back for. Yet the sight of the kitchen staff handling raw meat with bare hands and then touching everything else in sight without even washing their hands makes me think otherwise. Oh well. It is to bad, as I had high hopes based upon all of the things I've read and had been told. Just another typical Santa Fe place...

A few of my favorite restaurants are within this central stretch of Cerrillos Road, and I'm happy to say that this is one of them. The menu was interesting and it makes you want to order more than you know you can eat in one sitting. I will definitely return. We started with a couple of little bites; the fish chips and a vegetable risotto dish. I've never seen fish and chips as a starter and I thought it was a great alternative to the 1200 calorie deep-fried fiesta that I've been accustomed to seeing. The batter was very light and the tarter sauce was tangy rather than sweet. Coupled with the potato skin and slaw, I though this made for one of my favorite F & C experiences. The risotto dish was very good as well, although I might request that they substitute the oven for the blow torch next time. The house made mozzarella was delicious, but the charred bits were not my favorite flavor on such a light dish. The marinara makes you reconsider your entree selections in favor of one of their pizzas (next time.) The pulled pork sandwich was amazing, a feat pulled off without excessive seasoning or messy sauces. The bread is great too. My biggest complaints were temperature related. I love the oven in regards to the food, but it definitely has a negative effect on the beer and ambiance (during warmer months.) I'm not sure if there's a fix for that, but I'm thinking that the oven's presence will be celebrated during the colder months of the year. The beer selection seemed well thought out with something for every taste, provided that you're not someone that's stuck on a shitty domestic beer from now until the day you die. Can't wait to sample more items!!

Just ate there. Not sure how the place got 3.5 chilis in "Pasatiempo." Slow, hapless service at the bar when ordering food and drinks, head-banging music on the speakers, 3 TVs with only sports channels - need one dedicated to CNN, so-so food, no AC (which they are getting fixed). With so many excellent choices in Santa Fe, mediocrity doesn't need to be an option when dining out.

Not really advertised, this relatively new endeavor by Josh Gerwin, former owner of Casa Vieja is worth seeking out. Great combos of heat using NM chilies, local goat, apples and his wood fired oven will tantalize most any pallet. Local Craft beers, sports on large screen TV's & great food, I love this place.

Dr. Field Goods has opened a bakery and butcher shop four doors away from main restaurant that is awesome. A small selection of excellent sandwiches made with house-cured meats is the best in Santa Fe. Sandwiches are served with very good, hand-cut fries. The baked goods, crowned by the best cinnamon roll in New Mexico, are worth the trip. I am not greatly attracted to the main restaurant's menu. It needs to be seasonally revised, but I'd walk a mile for the bakery and butcher shop. Counter help is friendly and industrious turning out good stuff before your eyes.

Wow - i was really impressed. I had my dog along on this trip so we tried to take advantage of the outdoor patio. Mother nature was having none of it so we got chased off the patio with sideways driving rain. The rest of the family waited in the car while I dutifully sat at the bar waiting for our food. The beer selection is modest but the choices are fantastic. A few of my all-time favorites are among the dozen or so on tap. I had the NM-style marg pizza and it was really spot on. My wife got a mussels dish (it might have been an app) but the amount said main course. They were fresh, tasty and perfectly seasoned. We didn't go back on this trip but we will the next time we stop in town.

Great food. I had their vegetarian steak salad, which was just a neat take on a veg-based meatloaf. Over salad. Fresh greens, solid onion jam stuff. My only concern is that they list a few things on the menu, including my entree, as gluten-free, but they contain barley. I'm not sure their rationale, but GF diners be on the careful side and talk to your server.

Stunned at the quality and flavor. This place is something special. I started with the Carne Adovada Egg Roll. The pairing of the savory carne meshes well with the Asian styling of the egg roll just by itself, wrapped in a crispy yet firm fried wrap. But when paired with the slightly sweet peanut sauce, the flavors really came to full fruition, filling my mouth with complexity and delight. The pickled hot vegetables served with it are sweeter than typical, but the heat of the jalapeño was enough to make me cough and reach for some water. It was the spiciest part of the meal. My main course was the Xmas Enchiladas. Just. Wow. Red chile-buffalo was delicious and less rich than the sizzling appearance suggested. The green chile chicken was only inferior by a nudge; both were among the best enchiladas I've had in years. For a drink I had the fresh ginger ale which was light and refreshing. The muddled ginger was pungent without being overpowering, and there was just enough syrup in it to make it sweet. My new favorite place. Highly recommended.

Wow, this unimpressive strip mall on Cerrillos Road houses a delightful restaurant/bar. There are about 16 different beers on tap - I loved the two I tried. On someone's recommendation I tried the Pizza de Gallo, which was delicious but fire! (I'm a bit of a wimp with jalapeños, but I love spicy food all the same.) My partner enjoyed his buffalo burger with green chilli and there was a nice selection of healthier things on the menu too, like salad- but why waste my time on that? The restaurant is small and even though there are tables outside, you can't have alcohol out there, and the view of Cerrillos Road isn't that inspiring anyway. Arrive early, sit inside, enjoy beer.

On my last night in Santa Fe, I let the boyfriend pick since we weren't happy with any of my choices the previous 2 days. Service was awesome. Our waiter was extremely attentive and we never had an empty glass (my biggest pet peeve) I got the orange creamsicle, I wasn't real impressed with it. It wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't worth the $4 price tag. I think it needed to be a little sweeter. I got the Skinny Burger with the potatoes. This was a lot of food. The burger is 3 small patties piled on each other with american cheese and fresh lettuce, tomatoes and onions. Delicious. And the potatoes are amazing. They melt in your mouth. I'm glad I found one good restaurant before I left Santa Fe

The food and the service are consistently excellent here. The only drawback is the small dining room. Try the charred Caesar salad. Amazing!

I've been a regular at this place almost since the beginning. Haven't been in a couple of months because of work. Started my vacation yesterday and decided to have pizza and wine. The pizza ingredients were very unevenly distributed. The waiter at the bar had more attitude than service. It would be nice to see a smile and a greeting than a look! I'm leaving here in a grouchy mood despite the wine due to piss-poor service with attitude and food less quality than previous experience Not sure I will be back. Many places with consistently better service and food.

Great place for a hamburger. Would have got five stars except that the cooking is inconsistent. Sometimes its the best a couple of times it has just been good. I wasn't a big fan of the tacos. The Dr. Field Good potatoes are delicious. A bit loud at times and somewhat of a hipster hangout.

Some of the worst service I have ever experienced. It was as if we were an inconvenience to the waitress. On the flip side the guacamole and chips was delicious, the New Mexican sandwich was very good. Drinks are all natural which makes them a little expensive but worth it. If I were to rank it just on the food I'd give 5 stars but the service would be a 1 star.

This is a shining star among many great restaurant choices in the area. Highlights include; fantastic rotating beers, tasty and inventive non alcoholic Sake and wine drinks; simply the best wood fired pizzas, great entrees on the menu if you make it through the specials without ordering one of them. Having not tried everything on the menu (I am working on it), my favorites are the grilled Caesar (with fish filet), fish and chips, black mussels, the Cuban sandwich and the Margarita pie (asks the chef on his recommendations on additions. When it comes to side orders there are several great offerings but don't leave without tasting the "Patatas Bravas", I tell them frequently to take the plain potatoes off the menu and make the Bravas the standard. For desert don't miss the daily Creme Brûlée, we never make it past that offering but the others look great. Also don't miss the butcher shop when your looking for custom trimmed meats, and lighter fare.

Great wine choices, awesome local food. Healthy and delicious. Good beer on tap. I have been here twice now and both were great experiences. The first time, I was in a big hurry to get a quick but *healthy* lunch, and I only had 10 minutes to get it and back to work. The staff were super accomodating to whip out a quinoa salad very quickly and get it for me to go. The second time was for dinner.

This was the best restaurant that we experienced in Santa Fe - hands down! I had the Goat Torta, which had goat cheese infused with habanero peppers. It was spciy, but good. My husband had the El Cubano, which he said was the best that he had ever had - anywhere. The sandwiches were huge, so plan to share. I also had the green chili stew that was probably the best that I had while in NM. The service was OUTSTANDING! When we arrived it was jam packed, but the waiter moved a chair from the bar to a high top table and we were all set. The waitress was perfect and out table was visited no less than 4 times while we were eating to check and make sure that everything was okay. We will definitely be going back on our next trip!

I think the 'Chef' has taken himself too seriously badly re-creating food and dishes that should have been left simple and tasty without adding his own spin, basically drowning them in unnecessary sauces, oils, dips. And combining items that do not belong together unless you are a novice and experimenting. Wish he would leave his experiments elsewhere. On top of it all is noisy, loud TV's (seriously?) with uncomfortable chairs. He would have been better off just making buffalo wings and turning it into a sports bar. (Although he would probably not follow a simple buffalo wings recipe and he might add coconut milk) Prices are high for the mediocre food he concocts.

Excellent food here. Enchiladas and the NM sandwich are really good options. Dining room is pretty casual, service is quite good. Get here early for dinner or enjoy the wait. We'll be coming back here next time we're in SF.

Great food and unique choices. The farm to table freshness shines through in the flavors. The fresh ginger ale is great and the New Mexican sandwich was excellent. We also tried the risotto balls-I thought it needed a little salt but still excellent.

My husband and I were a huge fan of Chef Josh from his days at the restaurant Casa Vieja in Corrales and were excited to discover his latest restaurant venture in Santa Fe. We were not disappointed! We were immediately greeted by a friendly staff and the delicious smell of fresh-baking pizza. We opted to start with the Carne Adovada egg roll, which was deep fried and DELICIOUS! It comes with a peanut dipping sauce, which is not everyone's favorite, but it was surprisingly light and not overwhelmingly peanut-buttery. I could have ate five more. I got the Cubano sandwich for dinner which was equally yummy. It is huge though and could definitely be shared! My husband got the fish special and it was perfectly cooked. We can't wait to come back!!

Delicious!! Favorite items: Carne Adovado Eggrolls, Cubano Sandwich , and Skinny Burger. Great beer selection! Only critique is the blow of green chile stew is more like a cup and the seating situation can feel cramped.

One of the most enjoyable, satisfying meals I have had in a long, long time. All four plates in our party went back clean enough to put right back on the shelf. I had the New Mexican pulled pork sandwich, and it was the tastiest pulled pork I have ever had. Highly recommended. My wife had the fish and chips, and again the fish was outstanding - she loved it, too, and she is British. I have attached a photo of our dessert, the bread pudding. I have eaten bread pudding in a lot of places, including New Orleans, and this was absolutely outstanding. The coffee was ground when we ordered it, and served in a small French press. Wonderful. Are you getting the impression I liked this place? Well, I did, and you should. Highly recommended....great draft selection, too. Pizza for us when we next visit - we watched it being made and it looked fantastic. Photos attached.

It's difficult to have much faith in a business that starts with a lie. I found Dr. Field Goods Kitchen through a search for Santa Fe wifi, which I needed for a meeting. I even called to see if they have wifi and was told that they do. It turns out that wifi is for office, not for patrons. But, they are happy to give you the password for the wifi from a business two doors down. Unless they have an agreement with them, that is unethical. And, two doors down does not give strong enough wifi for a business meeting. The fish tacos could use a little less condiments and more fish. The service was fine except when I arrived 10 minutes early, I got to go back and sit in my car instead of being invited in to wait.

This is extremely exciting and adventures pub food. Not for the faint at heart. Everything on the menu is worth trying. I've never had a bad meal here and I've never left disappointed. They do their best to source local and organic ingredients. Their take on the BLT has to be seen to be believed. 9oz of bacon ground down, formed into a patty and slow cooked in a wood fire oven. This is a bacon lovers dream come true and it proves that Dr. Field Good is not afraid to take chances. The daily specials are always amazing and fresh. Also features a great selection of local, national and international craft beers.

I had lunch here with my daughter this week. Some people, including some friends, have been very impressed. We went early enough that it was barely half full when we ordered, but jam-packed by the time we left. The best I can say is a hearty "meh". Here's what's good: #1 Portion size. #2 Quality of ingredients. Here's what's lacking: #1 They don't seem to know how to manage those high-quality ingredients. My large cabrito sandwich--which had plenty of meat--was supposed to have slaw with habanero sauce as one of its ingredients, but there was maybe a tablespoon-and-a-half of slaw on it. (I took half of it home; later I threw on some cole slaw and hot sauce, and it was excellent, but I shouldn't have to do that.) My daughter's green chile cheeseburger was also generously portioned--but the chile was cold and the cheese unmelted. (Fer Pete's sake, just throw it under a salamander and count to twelve, amirite?) #2 Our server seemed to have only the barest outline of an idea of what the job of a server is. Just to hit the highlights: We ordered a cup of soup to split while waiting for our entrées, but didn't get it until we reminded our server *after* we'd started the entrées. (It was good, though.) When ordering, I had presented a discount certificate to the server, but when the bill came the discount hadn't been applied and I had to ask for the bill to be re-calculated. Finally, I asked for salt and pepper, which are not on the tables. It was brought to the table by someone who was not our server, and I found it *very* off-putting to be told, "You really shouldn't need these..." This could be a good place, but wa-a-ay more attention to detail needs to be paid, both in the front and the back of the house. (I would have given two-and-a-half stars, but there's no way to do that, and it definitely wasn't "A-OK".)

Don't ever leave Santa Fe without visiting Dr Field Goods!!!! Outstanding and memorable...I had the best vegetarian meal ever at this hard to find, small, quirky place with the friendliest staff...then I have found in my 2 weeks here on vacation that Santa Fe is one of the friendliest areas on this earth.

One of the best and most unique meals I have ever had. So much thought goes into their dishes. Any one complaining that this place is overpriced is out of their minds. Quality over quantity! And the quality here is insanely good! My only suggestion is that the beer list be updated or that beers be stocked in a different manner. My husband ordered 3 beers that they were out of. The waitress apologized every time she'd return saying they didn't have it. It took away from an otherwise wonderful experience. But the place is still awesome!

If the dinner dilemma you are facing is, should I pay $15 for a sandwich or $15 for a pizza, then opt for the pizza. This is the third time I've had dinner here and each time I've regretted not choosing the wood-fire oven pizza. They have an eclectic menu to be sure - a few New Mexican dishes, some unusual sandwiches (steak au poivre sandwich using baby broccoli as greens) and the pizzas. This time I tried the steak sandwich because I wasn't in the mood for green chile -this or -that; although the steak was cooked to my specifications, instead I found the sandwich too heavy on the horse radish. Half way through I was wistful for the pizza. Which would have cost me as much as the sandwich. Atmosphere is decent. It's a cute, smaller location. They do have patio seating however outside you must contend with the traffic blasting by on Cerrillos, the main drag into town. Service is decent too. I may return if I feel like splurging on a pizza, or better yet to split one with a friend.

I thought the food here was hit or miss. My burger was overcooked and sorta slopped together and the springroll was gross and inedible. My friend said his pizza was okay but for two people eating without alcohol or drinks, the $50 tab was a lot for my not really enjoying my meal. This place has great reviews and I don't understand why our experience was so 'meh' but I'll be unlikely to return. There are a lot of restaurants in Santa Fe with better execution.

Food and beer were really tasty. We split the egg roll appetizer on recommendation of a yelper and it was amazing. We had a goat cheese special pizza. Also very good. Loved the crust, which had an olive oil base and was kind of like a pit pocket bread. Great ambiance too. We sat at the bar and watched them toss pizzas in the air and then into the wood burning oven. Lots of fun. My only complaint was they handed us the bill after our second beer without asking if we were done. We were....but it was a bit like being kicked out. We each still had half a beer left. There were a couple tables left and no one waiting. Small complaint. I guess it's not the kind of place to hang and drink, I get it. It just felt odd.

This place is extremely overrated. Organic or not, the food is pretty bad. The salad I ordered was soggy and completely drenched in this dressing. The salmon flat bread pizza, well, it was incredibly salty and not worth the money I paid for it. It was basically flat bread smeared with salty hummus and salty salmon. There was horrible art hanging everywhere and the music was pretty ridiculous. I heard songs by Metallica and AC/DC. That's not exactly the kind of music I want to be hearing if I am paying 30 bucks per person. Pass on this one. This is mainly for Santa Fe locals who really don't have much of a choice where to eat anyways. I cry for the people in Santa Fe.

The BOTTOM LINE: While Dr. Field Goods Kitchen puts out some yummy food, the hit-or-miss nature of the execution, and the slightly high prices make it so that I'm unlikely to go here, unless it's for fresh ginger ale. In my experience (3-5 times), Dr. Field Goods Kitchen is hit-or-miss, which is why I've given the place several tries. The ingredients are fresh and wonderful, but many times, the food leaves me feeling frustrated, because the execution doesn't measure up to the ingredients. I get the feeling that the chef doesn't have confidence in the ingredients or his cooking and just figures that if you throw more unhealthy (fat (ahem, mayo), salt, etc) at the food, that that will cover any imperfections and people with love the food. Examples: One of the most popular items seems to be the patatas bravas, which you can get with red or green chile. While I love the fact that these potatoes are crisp and garlicky, there's simply too much mayonnaise to the point of making me and my friend ill even though we shared an order and didn't eat anything else. The fish and chips on potato skins similarly had too much mayonnaise in the coleslaw and not enough seasoning. The batter was also underseasoned, which was a shame, because the fish itself was flaky and good quality. The goat torta would've been delicious, except the habanero sauce made it inedibly spicy. You're thinking, "She's just a wimp," but that's not true. I LOVE spicy food, and my scale of spicy if shifted really hot as someone who's been living in New Mexico for several years and who loves spicy Asian food. The habanero sauce made the torta so spicy that it obscured the great flavors of the goat and coleslaw. Two things that are AWESOME here: 1) The fresh-made ginger ale 2) The heirloom tomatoes However, Dr. Field Goods strategy seems to be working, since the place gets a good crowd, but I feel like this is also a function of the establishment's "indie-cool" image, and the fact that the options in Santa Fe, especially where there's convenient parking, are limited. As far as the ambiance, it's a personal preference, but I dislike how there are several TVs as if the place doesn't know if it's a cozy upscale pub restaurant or a sports bar with TVs that just distract from the dining/socializing experience.

My family loves the potatas bravas with red chile, and the wood fired pizzas. The green chile chicken enchiladas are pretty special, as is the New Mexican pork sandwich. All in all, after 6-8 meals, we have loved each one. This is a Santa Fe gem, great prices, great quality food and from fresh local ingredients. Seating is limited and sometimes tight but we have always found a way to squeeze in and service is friendly.

We have just finished the most lip smacking fresh meal that I have had in a long time. We ordered the La Mont Buffalo Burger with bacon and an over medium egg. It was perfectly cooked, and so juicy my mouth watered when I cut into it. Their feel good potatoes were crispy and flavorful, which is hard to accomplish with potato quarters. We also ordered the cheese pizza, which clearly had fresh mozzarella. It was fresh, and we watched them hand toss the pizza crust before they made the pizza. They also had one of my husband's favorite beers on tap. We will absolutely be back the next time we are in Santa Fe.

This is my third try at this restaurant and I have to downgrade my review. The service on a slower afternoon is good and everyone is friendly. The tea (from the tea house) was OK... We decided to do a three-tier approach to the food. We ordered 2 portions of the BLT. (How hard is it to make a BLT?" Both of us ate about five bites. The patty was too thick, there wasn't enough tomato, and the lettuce was kind of scattered. The sandwich simply doesn't hold up. The potatoes were great. I also ordered the mushroom soup, but it was totally outclassed by another bistro on one of our backstreets. And again, no Wifi, even though they have two channels available (both locked... WHY?) When I brought the leftovers home and gave them to my roommate, he could only take one bite because it was too rich... I really think that three strikes does it for this restaurant... Never again.

This was an awesome lunch spot! The service may seem like it is a little slow for some, but I have zero complaints. Everything is made fresh (even the ginger ale!) and it definitely shows. Our waiter was fantastic; he offered tons of suggestions without being overbearing. I tried the $10,000 burrito, which won the New Mexico Burrito Challenge performed by the Travel Channel. I have to admit my trepidation: I'd never had goat meat before, and I'm normally a green chile girl. It was delicious! The flavors were all fantastic, and the guacamole was awesome. My companion had the pizza margarita, and it was probably one of the best pizzas I've sampled. (It was so good, there was no time for pictures...) The kicker for this meal was the bread pudding....INCREDIBLE. Huge portions that are perfect for splitting. The caramel sauce was the perfect touch. I definitely plan to come here again and sample the Badass BLT.....

Unique! Love their wood fired pizza with goat sausage. An eclectic menu with healthy options, great beers on draft. The French press coffee is a bit annoying, but the food is delicious. A little spendy but you are getting better quality ingredients.

I think they have cute young woman as a qualification for all of there serving staff. The opposite for the kitchen. It was a bit odd seeing the way it was diversified but it is always nice to have friendly service that is easy on the eyes. The food is great. The bathroom needs cleaning, it is not quite as nice as it was when they first opened (bathrooms are hard to keep up, I know, you need some industrial strength cleaner for sinks and such if you don't scrub them gently every week). The pizza is one of their best dishes. They always have deals around the internet and such. I appreciate what they are doing here. I like that they have local art but think they should find an identity with it and not change too frequently.

Omeee yow! I love everything! The beer, service, and atmosphere. This is THE BEST BURGER in town. Also the goat torta is AH-MAZING! I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Thank you Dr. You have got the remedy!

Menu is interesting with something for everyone. Food was really good. We ordered a bison burger and the "New Mexican" burger. Both were excellent. Service a bit on the slow side. The big downer for us was the restaurant's atmosphere. Restaurant approx half full and sadly it was too noisy to hold a conversation without repeating yourself - made even worse with the constant use of the very loud ear level juicer. Music was annoyingly skipping every few seconds during the entire meal. When we informed the waiter we were told that its "internet radio and it always does that". Why even use it then? Very strange. Good food and worth checking out but I recommend you sit outside and give yourself plenty of time due to the relaxed service.

I love this place. The food is inventive and delicious. I have tried several items and have never been disappointed. They also have a great selection of rally good beer on tap and a wood oven that they fire o lot of the dishes in, including a charred caesar salad- don't ask, just try it, it's awesome. Also don't miss the Bad Ass BLT, and get an egg on it. You may be hesitant (as I was) to order a sandwich with patty of ground bacon, but trust me, you owe it to yourself to try this, even if you don't finish it. I've never had anything like it (in a great way). The only reason I deducted a star is because I don't like the location or the space much. Locals don't like driving down Cerrillos for meals and this place is in a weird strip mall that's hard to get in and out of because of strange turn lanes and a busy street. But the food is worth the hassle.

We had lunch here on Xmas eve, but holiday busyness has delayed this review. I had the goat torta, basically a goat barbacoa panini. It was delicious. (There's the barbacoa imperative --- if it's on the menu, it must be ordered. It's like the lower Al's imperative --- if it's opened, it must be skied.) The beer list is impressive. It and the great food are enough to make this joint a gastropub. For dessert we had creme brûlée, the flavor of the day being coffee. Delicious. We also had the bread pudding. I used to order bread pudding all the time, but after a sequence of disappointments, I have been avoiding it. Something told me that this version would be fantastic, and it was. The sauce was nicely caramelized, and the spices were perfect. The piñon nuts were a nice touch, in my opinion. (Yuk, yuk.) I had the French press coffee with dessert, and that was also very good. I like the emphasis on local ingredients. And the service was fabulous, despite the restaurant being totally full of customers. The downside is that there aren't very many vegetarian options. My wife ordered the vegetarian burrito. It had an amazing variety of vegetables, especially for the dead of winter. But the burrito was lacking in something to make it flavorful. Not just my wife's opinion but also mine. It's unusual to find restaurants that do great jobs on both meat and vegetarian dishes. A few exist in Santa Fe. This has the possibility of being one of them.

The owner Josh and staff have hit a home run with this place. Attentive service, non-pretentious atmosphere, good vibe, fine selection of craft and local beer, and creative food. The Pizza de Gallo with carne adovada will knock your socks off.

This review also appears in the 2013-2014 Santa Fe Reporter Restaurant Guide: Dr. Field Good's Kitchen presents a hip and beautiful paradox: fancy comfort food. It indulges both the decadent and refined halves of any good food brain. It's a perilous tightrope to walk, but chef Josh Gerwin pulls it off with style to spare. You want a burger piled sky high with meats and cheeses? Try the ironically named Skinny Burger: a tower of locally sourced ground beef patties, cheese and Gerwin's special sauce (pleasantly reminiscent of In-N-Out's). How about ooey gooey? Well, you're in luck! Try the Roasted Vegetable Arancini: fried risotto balls topped with a damn-near perfect marinara and fresh-torched mozzarella. You're gonna have to call and break up with cheese sticks after this. To complete a trifecta of decadence, try the Bad Ass BLT, a 9 oz. patty of ground bacon grilled to perfection and topped with lettuce and tomatoes. This sandwich may very well constitute the pinnacle of our nation's recent obsession with bacon. Though it may lack the crunch of a thin rasher, the sheer density of bacon flavor is as orgasmic as it is overwhelming. Top it off with some of the richest chocolate truffles you're bound to ever taste, and you'll always remember fondly the day you ditched your diet.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Great food - good flavors, interesting offerings, helpful/upbeat server, AND a place that has no attitude. Duck confit burger, rare hanger steak on grilled romaine lettuce with shavings of parmesan, lavender scented creme brûlée...All perfect! In a nondescript strip mall, end unit...you'd think this place should be in the old Santa Fe downtown/tourist quarters and with servers bragging about organic this and local that...(they do use local ingredients but without the attitude). LOVE IT! Real people, REALLY good food. I'd definitely come back and tell friends about it. If you really love food rather than decor and location, go to Dr. Field Goods Kitchen.

Great food and unique choices. The farm to table freshness shines through in the flavors. The fresh ginger ale is great and the New Mexican sandwich was excellent. We also tried the risotto balls-I thought it needed a little salt but still excellent.

The worst coffee in town. It was absurdly weak and watery. The french press is all show and no substance. The food was good, though.

Pizza wood fired yummy heirloom tomato house made mozzarella yummmmmm mussels in a coco curry are divine! The place is small and drafty in winter - he really needs to expand! It's a cool Vibe to watch the cooks prepare food. Great beers - different pairing of foods a foodie would love!!

I've eaten here on two occasions recently, and both times the service and food were a1. It's a bit off the beaten path, but I highly recommend it!

Wish we lived in Santa Fe so we could become regulars. This place is so good. Numerous vegetarian dishes but great meat options too. Full bar, warm ambience and friendly servers. If you like "farm to fork", this place is for you!

On a recent trip to Santa Fe, despite all my restaurant planning, the best meal we had was one that we stumbled onto - Dr. Field Goods. This place was amazing, and I'm still dreaming about the green chile homefries.

Unique! Love their wood fired pizza with goat sausage. An eclectic menu with healthy options, great beers on draft. The French press coffee is a bit annoying, but the food is delicious. A little spendy but you are getting better quality ingredients.

I brought my family here for the one day we were in Santa Fe. I like different restaurants not your typical chain which is why I picked this place. The kids didn't really dig it but I loved the Green Pork Chili and my wife loved the Margherita Pizza.

What a great discovery! We found this little cafe in a shopping center in Santa Fe. The food was well prepared and delicious. Good selection of beers with wonderful service. Eating food that you know is good for you adds to the great meal!

My wife and I came for a Monday night no cooking day dinner. I had the Cubano and a side of black bean pork soup oh my God it is amazing I'm still sitting now eating desert and enjoying a Goose Island Sophie homemade beer. Service 5 stars my name is Richard owner of Comfort Doctor Heating Cooling & Plumbing LLC and this review is legit I will be bringing my staff here and friends. I did stop by in the past but it was packed so I left as I once told my buddy at Jambos you'll need to expand so I say the same here it Rocks! Oh also had the Carne adovada Egg Roll Amazing!

Their "Patatas Bravas" are the best thing that has ever happened to a potato. And they've somehow figured out a way to turn bacon into tasty congestive heart failure equivalent of a hamburger patty. And everyone is friendly. gobble gobble gobble
